Every week I will be reviewing two makeup products against each other! I will compare the two of them, and give my honest opinion. This week will be eyeshadow primer. Today I will be reviewing the Urban Decay Primer Potion, and the Fenty Pro Filt'r Eye Primer.

The Urban Decay primer is loved by many. It retails for $24 on Sephora.com and has 2 different formulas (Original & Anti-Aging) and 6 different shades. The tube holds 10ml or 0.33 oz. This primer goes way back. Most everyone I knew used this primer for their eyeshadow. The formula itself feels a bit greasy, but it dries matte. This formula definitely isn't tacky when dried, but it does dry quick.
The doe foot itself is very thin for the applicator. When I wiped off the primer off the doe foot, I noticed it had tiny bristles on the doe foot. I also noticed how part of the bristles weren't even on there, and so it had a few empty patches.
I think this doe foot is cheap for the price you are buying. Urban Decay changed up the bottle of the primer a few years ago, so you can get more product out of the bottle. However with each time I dip the doe foot in to the tube, I get less product than I would like to. One thing I have noticed is it is easier to get the most product out of the bottle, if you squeeze the tube while you have the doe foot out of the bottle, then you can use the doe foot to pick up as much product as you want. I definitely think that this formula keeps shadows pigmented, but I do find that when I start blending shadows together, they disappear or they don't blend as well as I'd like. I have very oily skin in general, I bought this primer so my eyeshadow could last all day. At the end of a normal day, I found that the oils seeped through the primer/eyeshadow, and it definitely creased. This primer may be great if you have normal to dry skin, but as someone who has oily skin, I feel like this primer didn't work for me.

Fenty Beauty dropped a lot of eye products in 2018. Rihanna dropped everything from eyeshadow palettes, eyeshadow brushes, eyeliner, and an eyeshadow primer. This primer was launched on July 6th at Sephora and fentybeauty.com. This primer retails for $22 and you receive 8ml or 0.27 oz. While this primer does cost less than the Urban Decay one, you are receiving just a little bit less product. The packing itself is very similar to the foundation and the face primer. This bottle design actually mimics the face primer, with the pink top.
The doe foot tube feels sturdy and thick, and therefor I feel like the quality is worth the price. The doe foot itself is shaped like a light bulb. It has very tiny bristles that actually cover the whole head. I do feel like the doe foot isn't cheaply made. The inside of the bottle is made like a lipgloss tube, so you get the perfect amount of product each time. I believe that I only need one pass into the bottle to evenly cover one eyelid. The product is very creamy when applying on the eyelid. It dries with a sheen finish, and a tacky feel. I definitely feel like the eyeshadows are super pigmented when applied, and very easy to blend. Because this formula is very concentrated, I recommend tapping off excess eyeshadow on your brush, so you don't get any patchy pigmented spots. With my oily skin, I don't feel like the oils seep through at the end of the day, nor does the eyeshadow crease. The primer helps my eyeshadow to be long-lasting.
Beauty Battle Results: Between the Urban Decay Primer Potion and the Fenty Beauty Pro Filter Eye Primer, I think the Fenty Primer wins my money. I definitely will be purchasing this eye primer again. I think you are definitely getting your money's worth, and it definitely lasts awhile. Let me know your thoughts down below!
I love this product too!!! I'm on my fourth bottle, in fact. However, I have trouble getting every last bit out of the tube and end up throwing it away and purchasing a new one each time. This last bottle - I stored upside down the entire time ... and still, the product doesn't move. Not a big deal - I'll just keep buying more because I love it so much. But - Any professional advice?
